LaunchValid vs Carrd for a landing page test
Last reviewed August 9, 2026
Carrd is one of the best value tools on the internet: simple one-page sites, free for three of them, and $19 a year for a custom domain, forms and analytics at the time of writing. If you know exactly what your page should say, it is hard to beat. LaunchValid answers the part that comes before and after: what the page should claim, based on research into who the customer is, and what the signup rate actually tells you once the traffic arrives.
| LaunchValid | Carrd | |
|---|---|---|
| Building the page | Generated from your research, editable | A capable drag-and-drop editor you control fully |
| Deciding what it should say | From your researched customer and problem | Up to you |
| Cost | Included in a project, no separate hosting fee | Free for three sites, $19 a year for Pro |
| Design flexibility | Templates from your brand direction | Far more control over the exact layout |
| Reading the result | Signups measured against a threshold you set first | Analytics you connect and interpret yourself |
| What comes next | Prototype, working app, investor pack from the same research | You take the result to whatever you use next |
When Carrd is the better choice
If you already know your customer and your message, and you want a fast, cheap, good-looking page you control completely, use Carrd. It is genuinely excellent at that, the free tier is generous, and our own fake-door guide points people to exactly this kind of tool. Nothing here is an argument against it.
Where LaunchValid is different
LaunchValid is not a one-shot score. It is a living workspace: cited research where every claim is labeled a fact or an assumption and an automated check flags anything it cannot tie to a source, then a clickable prototype, a real test page that collects signups, a working app, and an investor pack, all from the same research, plus vetted humans you can hire with payment held in escrow. You keep updating it as you learn.
Common questions
Is Carrd good enough for a fake-door test?
Yes. A demand test needs a clear page and honest traffic, not an expensive tool, and Carrd does that well for very little money. The part it does not do is tell you what the page should claim, or what the resulting signup rate means.
Why would I use LaunchValid instead?
Because the page is the easy part. The value is in deciding what to say based on researched customer language, setting a pass threshold before the test, and having the prototype, the app and the investor pack come from the same research afterwards.
Can I use Carrd and LaunchValid together?
Yes. Do the research and set your threshold, then publish wherever you like. The test is about the message and the traffic, not about who hosts the page.
