We design a data model from your research and create a Google Sheet in your own Drive to hold the data. You build the app on top of it and publish to your own web address, so you own both the app and its data.
Your app can know who its users are
Your app can have its own signed-in users, not just visitors. People sign in with a link sent to their email, so there are no passwords to store or reset, and each link works once and expires. You switch sign in on or off per app, you can see how many accounts it has, and each person can hold a role so an owner sees more than a member. This is on the Pro and Business plans, and it is the difference between something you demo and something people come back to.
