Your free first look

Hear your idea stated back sharply, and the three assumptions that could sink it, before you spend a dollar.

What it is

Before you pay for anything, you get one free look at one idea. Sign in, describe your idea in a sentence or two, and we give you three things: your idea stated back to you sharply, the three riskiest assumptions inside it, and your first three steps. It costs nothing, it asks for no credit card, and every account gets one.

Why it matters

The most expensive mistake a founder makes is spending months building something nobody wanted, and the second most expensive is paying just to find that out. Most ideas do not fail on the part the founder worries about. They fail on an assumption the founder never noticed making. The first look names those assumptions while noticing them still costs you nothing, so your first week of work goes at the risk that matters instead of the one that feels comfortable.

How it works

Sign in and describe your idea. We state it back to you in plain words first, which is worth more than it sounds: reading your own idea in someone else's words is the fastest way to see what is still fuzzy about it. Then we name the three assumptions that would hurt most if they turned out to be false, and give you three concrete first steps for testing them. The whole thing takes about a minute, and your first look stays saved on your account so you can come back to it whenever you are ready.

What comes after

The first look tells you what to test. When you want the testing done, subscribe and your whole first project is set up for you: the full research, your action plan, product and engineering documents, a brand and a logo, a clickable prototype, and a demand page at the web address you chose at signup, none of it using your monthly credits. Your first look is the free minute that tells you whether the idea deserves that next step.

Common questions

Is the first look really free?

Yes. It costs nothing, uses no credits, and asks for no credit card. You do need to sign in, so your first look is saved to your account and waiting when you come back.

How many first looks do I get?

One per account, for one idea. It is a first look, not a free plan: when you want the full research, your prototype, and your live page, that is what a subscription is for.

What exactly do I get?

Three things: your idea stated back to you sharply, the three riskiest assumptions inside it, and your first three steps. It arrives about a minute after you describe your idea.
