Changing your mind, and what happens if a payment fails

Ask inside the window and the whole amount comes back, and a card that stops working never costs you your work.

Fourteen days on a monthly plan, thirty on Social

Every monthly plan carries a fourteen day money back guarantee, and Social, the plan that costs twelve dollars for the year, carries thirty. Ask inside that window and the whole amount comes back, with nothing deducted for the credits you spent, the posts you published, the pictures you made or the pages you built, because a guarantee with that arithmetic in it is not a guarantee. You do not have to give a reason, and you do not have to sit through anybody trying to talk you out of it.

The two limits, said where the money is asked for

The guarantee covers the first plan you buy rather than a renewal, and it can be used once per customer, which we recognize by the payment card as well as by the email address. Both limits sit beside the button that takes your money rather than waiting in the terms, because somebody who reads a shorter promise, pays, asks, and is turned down was sold a sentence we could not keep. A smaller promise you can rely on is worth more than a larger one you cannot.

Nothing is deducted for what you used

The credits you spent while you were deciding, the posts that went out, the pictures you composed and the pages you put on the web are not subtracted from what comes back. That is the whole point of the window: you are meant to use the product properly inside it, because a guarantee you can only claim by leaving the product untouched tells you nothing about whether the product is any good. Ask us inside the window and the amount you paid is the amount you get.

A renewal that fails switches nothing off that day

A card that stopped working is almost always an accident rather than a decision, and a yearly charge makes that likelier still, because a year is long enough for a card to be replaced and for nobody to think about a subscription they set up last spring. So nothing is taken away on the day a renewal fails. You get fourteen days, one email saying what happened and what will change if it is not fixed, and a reminder before the window closes. Your posts keep going out, your page stays up, and you can still make things in the meantime. If the card is retried and fails again, the window does not restart and you do not get a second email about the same card, because a retry is the same failure rather than a new one.

If the window closes, your work stays where it is

An account that lapses is not an account that was deleted. Your published pages stay on the web on a smaller traffic allowance and carry one small line at the foot saying they were built with LaunchValid, because taking somebody's page off the internet over an expired card is a punishment out of all proportion to the mistake. Scheduling stops, and anything you had already scheduled is held rather than sent, so nothing goes out under your name on a plan you are not paying for. Exporting your own pictures and your own words works the whole time. Pay again and the posts that are still ahead of you are scheduled once more, while any whose moment has already passed are canceled with the reason written on them rather than going out days late as though nothing had happened.

A refund is a different thing, and it is honest about that

A lapse means the period was paid for and a refund means it was not, so the two do different things to your work and we say which. When a refund is paid, access ends that day: the subscription stops, published pages come down, and anything scheduled is canceled rather than held. Your own pictures and your own words are still yours to export, because they were always yours. Knowing that before you ask is the point of writing it here, since the one version of this that would be unfair is the one you find out about after the money has gone back.

How to ask

Email hello@launchvalid.com from the address on your account, inside the window, and say you want your money back. There is no form to fill in and no list of reasons to pick from, and you will not be routed through somebody whose job is to talk you out of it. You get a confirmation by email that names the amount and mentions no deductions, because a refund email that quietly itemizes what was withheld is how a guarantee stops being one. The full terms, including what happens to one time document purchases, are in the refund policy.

Common questions

Do I have to give a reason?

No. Ask inside the window and the whole amount comes back. We may ask what went wrong, because it is useful to know, and your answer changes nothing about the refund.

How many times can I use it?

Once per customer, on the first plan you buy rather than on a renewal. We recognize a customer by the payment card as well as by the email address, so a second account on the same card does not get a second guarantee.

My card expired and the renewal failed. What now?

Nothing changes on that day. You get fourteen days, an email saying what happened, and a reminder before the window closes. Posts keep going out and your pages stay up the whole time. Update the card inside the window and you will never notice it happened.

What happens to my published page if I stop paying?

It stays online on a smaller traffic allowance with one small line at the foot saying it was built with LaunchValid. Scheduling stops and anything already scheduled is held rather than sent. Pay again and the posts still ahead of you go back on the clock.

Is a refund the same as canceling?

No, and the difference matters. Canceling leaves you paid up until the period ends. A refund ends access the day it is paid: published pages come down and scheduled posts are canceled. Your own pictures and words stay yours to export either way.
