For agencies and studios

Bring your team to founders who are ready to hire.

Founders arrive here with scoped, funded work. Your people deliver it wherever they live, you are paid once through escrow, and we tell you what you owe each of them.

Working through an agency rather than running one? Read the terms that apply to you.

Why agencies are here

Your people work here wherever they live

Payouts reach a limited list of countries. Your best developer may not be in one of them, and forming a company abroad is a lot to ask before somebody's first job. If your agency can be paid, they can work.

One payment to you, not forty to chase

Founders pay into escrow and it releases to your agency when the work is approved. You get one payout and one Stripe transfer to reconcile, whoever on your team delivered it.

A settlement report, so you know what you owe

Every period, a statement of what we paid you and whose work it was for, with the date and the transfer id to match against your bank. Download it as a spreadsheet and pay your people from it.

Your people keep their own record

Work is attributed to the individual by name, alongside your agency. Their ratings follow them, which is what makes joining you worth doing rather than a way to disappear.

How it works

  1. 1

    Apply

Tell us who you are and what your agency does. Agency review is its own review, separate from seller vetting, because it asks a different question.

  2. 2

    Bring your people

Share your link. Anyone who follows it lands as pending, and you confirm them: their work is delivered in your name, so you decide who represents you.

  3. 3

    They bid and deliver

Your members bid on scoped, funded work in their own name. Each one connects a payout account of their own to get through review and approval, and from then on the money for their work comes to you.

  4. 4

You are paid, then you pay them

Escrow releases to your agency. The settlement report tells you what each person earned, and you settle with them on your own terms.

Said plainly, before you apply

Running an agency here means taking on real obligations to your people. These are the ones worth knowing before you start, not after.

  • You are the service provider. Founders contract with your agency, and your people deliver as your contractors.
  • We pay you. You pay them. We are not a party to your arrangement with your members, and we do not hold money for them.
  • Your cut is yours. It never passes through our system and we take no view on it.
  • Delivery, refunds and chargebacks are yours. If a member delivers badly, that is your delivery.
  • We will not adjudicate a pay dispute between you and a member. We cannot. But repeated, credible reports that you are not paying people will end your agency here.

Questions from agencies

Which countries can an agency be in?

Any country Stripe pays out to, since that is how you receive money. Your members can be anywhere we operate, which is the point: the agency clears the payout barrier for them.

Do my members need their own Stripe account?

They connect one to get through review and approval, because that is where their legal name is confirmed. After that, the money for their work is paid to you rather than to them, which is the barrier this clears. A member who can be paid directly is paid directly, because that is a better deal for them than going through anybody.

Can I set my own rates with my team?

Yes, and we stay out of it. We report what we paid you for each person's work, gross. What you keep and what you pass on is between you and them, and it is yours to disclose to them.

What happens to my members if I leave?

They keep their accounts and their track record, and can join another agency or be paid directly if they can. Anything you already owe them for delivered work is still owed.

Do founders know they are hiring an agency?

Yes, and they are told before they hire, not after. Your agency is shown on your member's profile as the party they contract with. Hiding it would not be honest, and it would not survive a dispute.

Can somebody work through my agency and also introduce founders?

Yes. Introduction commissions route the same way and appear on the same settlement report, so a person who does both shows up once with both kinds of line.
