LaunchValid

Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

This policy explains how you can cancel on LaunchValid and what happens next. It covers paid subscriptions and marketplace engagements (tasks where a founder has hired an expert). It works with the Refund Policy, the Dispute Resolution Policy, the Terms of Service, the Buyer Agreement, and the Seller Agreement. LaunchValid is operated by AmpFi App LLC.

Subscription cancellation

What you can cancel

You may cancel a paid subscription (Starter, Pro, or Business) at any time. Cancelling stops future subscription charges. It does not delete your LaunchValid account or your projects.

One-time credit boost purchases are not subscriptions. Once a boost payment succeeds and credits are added, the purchase is complete and cannot be cancelled. See the Refund Policy.

How to cancel your subscription

  1. Sign in to LaunchValid and open Settings → Billing.
  2. Click Manage subscription to open the Stripe Customer Portal.
  3. Follow Stripe's steps to cancel your plan.

You can also change plans (upgrade or downgrade) from the Billing page or the Customer Portal. Plan changes and cancellations are processed by Stripe according to your current billing cycle.

If you cannot access the portal, email hello@launchvalid.com from the address on your account.

What happens when you cancel

  • Access. You keep paid-plan access until the end of your current billing period, unless Stripe shows a different end date in the portal.
  • Plan. When the subscription ends, your account moves to the Free plan.
  • Free is a one-month trial, not an ongoing tier. The Free plan is a trial that runs for 30 days from when you first created your account, not from your cancellation date. If your account is already older than 30 days when your subscription ends, the trial window has passed, so AI features (research, notebook, concept generation) are not available on Free. To keep using AI features, resubscribe to a paid plan.
  • Credits. Credits already on your account are not deleted when you cancel, and your monthly allowance stops renewing. Because AI features are unavailable once the trial window has passed, any remaining credits cannot be spent until you resubscribe to a paid plan. Boost credits you bought separately expire 90 days after purchase. Only the amount above your plan's monthly allowance can expire, and that allowance drops to 100 on the Free plan. So after you move to Free, more of your boost balance sits above the allowance than on a paid plan, which means more of it can expire. Your current boost balance and its expiry date are shown on the Billing page.
  • Marketplace and projects. Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account or projects, and it does not touch marketplace escrow. It does not cancel open marketplace tasks or refund escrowed task payments. Money you have paid into escrow to hire an expert follows the marketplace rules below, whatever plan you are on.

For refund rules on subscription fees, see the Refund Policy and Section 5 of the Terms of Service.

Marketplace task cancellation

What can be cancelled

Cancellation applies to a task where the founder has paid into escrow and the expert has not yet delivered. Once work is delivered, the founder approves it or opens a dispute instead. Cancellation is by mutual consent or by non-response. Neither side can pull escrowed funds unilaterally.

How marketplace cancellation works

  1. The founder requests a cancellation on a held task and gives a reason. The expert is notified.
  2. The expert responds within 5 days:
    • Accept. The task closes and the founder is refunded the task amount minus the 12% platform fee.
    • Decline. The case moves to dispute review and our team decides the outcome (see the Dispute Resolution Policy).
  3. If the expert does not respond within 5 days, the task cancels automatically and the founder is refunded in full.

If the expert delivers the work while a cancellation request is open, the delivery takes precedence: the request is closed and the founder then approves the work or opens a dispute.

Who bears the fee (marketplace)

The platform fee treatment is based on cause:

  • Founder-requested cancellation that the expert accepts. The founder chose to end the engagement, so the 12% platform fee is retained and the founder is refunded the remaining 88%.
  • Expert did not respond. The expert failed to engage, so the founder is refunded in full and no fee is kept.
  • Declined and sent to review. Our team decides a fair split based on the facts, including any work the expert had genuinely started.

No payout is made to an expert for a cancelled, undelivered task through this flow. If an expert had already done substantial work, that is what dispute review is for.

Repeated marketplace cancellations

Cancellation is for genuine changes of plan. If a founder repeatedly cancels funded tasks before delivery, LaunchValid may flag the account for review and, where warranted, limit marketplace access or take account action under the Terms of Service. Experts are also shown a reliability signal about a founder (including how often they cancel) so they can decide whether to bid.

For experts

By taking marketplace work you agree that a founder may request to cancel an undelivered task, and that if you do not respond within 5 days the task cancels and the founder is refunded in full. You are not paid for undelivered work through cancellation. If you believe you are owed for work already done, decline the request so our team can review it.
